Crispy Duck at Santi Mandala, Bali

On the 2nd day in Bali, my colleagues and I had dinner at Santi Mandala Villa & Spa in Sukawati - Gianyar area.

The view from the restaurant to the little river.

I am not so sure whether Santi Mandala is famous for their Crispy Duck but for sure, the tour agency  that we were using, had ordered this menu for our dinner. I have no idea about the price because it's a special package menu.

Crispy Duck
It's delicious! The duck was crispy on the outside but tender in the inside.

For those who don't want or like to eat then they can order Fried Chicken.

Condiments:
White rice, 3 types of Balinese chili sauce, fried soy bean cake, tropical fruits.

Balinese Salad
I didn't really like the dressing of this salad. Not so sure what it was.

King Mango Thai

Finally, I tried the hype King Mango Thai drink at Neo Soho Central Park, West Jakarta. It took me about 35 minutes to stand in queue. I heard that in the first months of opening, people would queue for 2 to 3 hours and  could only buy 3 cups per person.
While standing in the queue, I was observing how slow and inefficient the workers were preparing the drinks, even handing the drinks to the customers. I am not so sure whether they were already too tired or that is their way of preparing. For the inefficiency, I think they should implement the Kaizen methodology in preparing the juice so the customers don't have to wait and queue so long.

The King Mango Thai has 4 layers :
1. The bottom is the real Mango juice
2. Whipped Cream
3. Mango syrup shaved ice
4. Mango chunks.

It was over sweet for me especially the mango syrup shaved ice.  I could feel the sugar rush after I finished drinking it.

Qatar Airways Meal

For my trip to Germany, I flew with Qatar Airways. Here are the meals that I had during my flights (Jakarta - Qatar - Berlin, Frankfurt - Qatar - Jakarta).
BRUNCH
Appetiser: Seasonal fresh fruit
Main: Mushroom and leek fritata with grilled chicken sausage
Dessert: fruit yogurt

MAIN MEALS
Appetiser: Seasonal salad
Main: Steamed fish fillet with ginger and soy bean sauce
carrot, green beans and jasmine rice.

Appetiser: Seasonal salad
Main: Slow cooked lamb in an apricot sauce
herb mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
Dessert: Summer berry pudding.

Appetizer: Muffin
Main: Chicken sausage
fried potato
Dessert: fruit yogurt
The fried potatoes were warm at the outside, cold at the inside and very dry,.
It was hard to swallow.

Appetizer: red cabbage and apple coleslaw.
Main:Braised beef  in green peppercorn sauce
potato gratin and roasted vegetables
Dessert: Sticky toffee pudding.

From all the Qatar meal that I had, this main meal tasted very bad.
The braised beef was very salty and dry. It seemed that it had been pre-heated several times. The potato gratin was also salty and dry. The sticky toffee pudding was too sweet. The red cabbage and apple coleslaw was the only thing eatable.

Appetizer: Seasonal salad
Main: Gulf style chicken Biryani
tomato sauce and fried onion.
Dessert: Summer berry pudding.

This "2048" game is a very addictive game. Seriously!
