Wabito Ramen (Wabitoya)

My ex-colleague invited me for lunch to a quite small Ramen place named Wabito. It's also called by the Japanese as Wabito-Ya. I found out that "Ya" means restaurant.

Most of the customers in this restaurants are Japanese expatriates.

My friend's favorite ramen is
Tonkotsu Ramen - Rp. 50.000
Special Tonkotsu soup Ramen topped with Kikurage (edible fungus that grow on dead trees), Wakegi (scallion), Chashu (Japanese simmered pork) and Nori (seaweed).

I like my choice of ramen which is
Shoyu Ramen - Rp. 48.000
Pork soup + special Shoyu sauce Ramen topped with Hourenso (steamed spinach), Chashu (Japanese simmered pork), Menma, Negi (Japanese green onion) and Nori (seaweed).

Gyoza (6pcs) - Rp. 25.000
thin-skinned dumplings filled with pork and vegetables

Karaage - Rp 28.000
Fried soy flavored chicken

Konnyaku Jelly - complimentary

All prices are subjected to 10% tax and 5.5% service charge
(currency 1 USD = Rp. 9.000)

Well, overall the food was delicious and I think I would love to come back to Wabito again for another ramen.

Hanamasa - Yakiniku & syabu - syabu

In order to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2011, I had lunch together with my colleagues and bosses at one of Hanamasa restaurants. It's nice to eat at Hanamasa again but then I wasn't feeling very well that day thus I couldn't really eat nor enjoy the food, too bad.

Hanamasa

Hanamasa is the first Japanese franchise restaurant in Indonesia using the self-service (buffet) concept. Yakiniku ( grilled meat) and Syabu-syabu (hot pot) - also known as Shabu-Shabu are the main menu. The price for Yakiniku or Syabu-syabu is Rp. 98.500/person plus 10% tax. (currency: 1 USD = Rp. 9.000)

"Robayataki" is also included in the buffet menu.

Drinks (hot and cold) and desserts (fruits and pudding). I love the cold Thai tea here.
