Warung Kopi Alun Alun Indonesia

Someone asked me for a meeting at Warung Kopi located in a corner of the Alun Alun Indonesia, Grand Indonesia Mall. Warung Kopi is a café serving Indonesian food and drinks from regions across the country. Frankly speaking, me as a local, I prefer not to have Indonesian food and drink at the fancy malls because of the overly charge prices and the taste usually can not be compared with the authentic homemade, being sold at the traditional markets or on the streets.

This place is good for tourists or expatriates who want to experience the Indonesian food with Indonesian decoration and traditional music as the background sound.

An area for sitting on the floor.

Momi & Toy's

Today, Momi & Toy's has its soft-opening at Plaza Senayan. It is the first outlet in Southeast Asia. So far,  there are already 80 outlets in Japan, 3 outlets in Shanghai and 6 outlets in Taipei.

The crepes in Momi & Toy's are known as Torokeru crepes and freshly made. By the way, Torokeru in Japanese means creamy with superb melting texture while eating it.

Kuromitsu Kinako Cream with Ice cream - Rp. 39.000
The crepe is good, soft and flimsy but I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so actually the ice cream  and the drizzle of the syrup are already sufficient for me.

Cheese Egg Rice Roll - Rp. 34.000
A unique type of  soft crepe filled with rice, boiled egg with chili sauce.

Mix Berry Frutte - Rp. 24.000
Tea with berry flavor syrup at the bottom.

Go! Curry

A couple weeks ago, Jenz Corner and I had a nice lunch at Pacific Place mall. Without any hesitation, I just directly agreed to Jenz's suggeston when she mentioned Go!Curry. The location is secluded in a corner and the restaurant is pretty small but it's quite cozy.

Interestingly that Go!Curry is serving 5 types of curry - eating countries (England, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and India). We ordered the Indian curry. Of course, you can mix and match everything that is offered on the menu ;) But we decided to have the Indian version.

So, this is how we ordered and chose our lunch curry:

Step 1: Choose the curry
Rogan Josh - Go! Curry version of the Kashmiri classic

Step 2: Choose the spiciness
Medium

Step 3: Choose the rice
Cilantro Rice - rice added butter, chopped Cilantro and mild seasoning

Step 4: Choose the topping
Tandoor Chicken Tikka - Chicken cubes, marinated in traditional Indian spices, then grilled in a traditional clay oven.

MS Chicken Tika - Rp. 56.000
Good! Not too spicy... Not too hot..

Garlic Naan - Rp. 19.000
Traditional Wheat flat bread made with roasted chopped garlic.
It tasted nice when we dipped it to the Tandoor Chicken Tikka sauce.

Red Velvet - Rp. 45.000
since Jenz knows the owner and it's new on the menu, it's a complimentary for us. Thank you, Go! Curry.  Personally, I like this Red Velvet although the chocolate taste a bit dominated it. Plus point, it's not as sweet as the other Red Velvet that I've eaten.

All prices subjected to 5.5% service charge and 10% PB1

Current currency:
1 USD = Rp. 9.100

Location:

Seafood Kalimati - 94 Mulyono

It's been such a long for me to eat seafood on the street. I can't describe how happy I was to have the feeling of eating on the street again 2 week ago :)

This place is always crowded and the customers have to share their table with others.

The men are preparing and cooking the food inside the tent where the customers are also sitting. Although this is not a fast food place but they serve the food very fast.

Boiled Shellfish - Rp. 8.000
It's very good especially when dipped into the nice homemade sweet chili sauce, so fragrant with the strong garlic aroma.

Fried batter Squid - Rp. 22.000
The deep fried squid pieces were tender and nicely tasty coated in a light crispy batter.

Saute Morning Glory- Rp. 7.000
It's tasty and spicy.

Butter Prawn with sweet soy sauce- Rp. 23.000
The sauce of the butter Prawn was so good.

Actually, my colleagues and I wanted to order some crabs but our stomach were already so full. Next time, we will come again for the crabs! We were so satisfied. Well, nothing can beat the delicious seafood and cheap price ;)
