Washoku Sato, Central Park Mall

I just had a dinner with a friend to catch up stories about our lives. When we had to pick the meeting place, Washoku Sato in Central Park mall became our choice. This Japanese restaurant is the first branch in Indonesia and just opened last month. 



The menu has a wide selection but it does not look so attractive because of the background colors. I was already pessimistic about the taste of the food although this restaurant already established since 50 years ago in Japan with branches in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and India. I was so glad that the food tasted much better than the pictures in the menu.

Agedashi Tofu - Rp. 28.800
This deep fried tofu with dipping sauce for tempura was really good.

Caterpillar Roll - Rp. 58.800
A fusion sushi with avocado on top.

Sato Roll - Rp. 78.000
My friend and I really enjoyed this sushi roll filled with cucumber, rolled egg, cooking prawn, eel, inari. It is recommended.

All prices are subjected to 10% government taxt and 7.5% service charge.

Starting this October, brunch at Bengawan, at Keraton The Plaza, is not only available on Sunday but also every Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm.

As the popular Sunday brunch, the Saturday Brunch menu features Indonesian and Asian entrées and Chef's specialties:

Fresh Oysters from French

Jumbo Prawns

Sashimi

Fish Crab

Mussel from Japan

King Prawn

Blinis
Parsley, olive, pickles, sour cream, onion, white egg, yellow egg and tobiko.

It's so delicious and rich. 

I really enjoyed the fresh oysters.

I must say that the Kobe beef was the highlight of this brunch. So tender!

A cup of cappuccino ended my delicious brunch at Bengawan.

BBQ Weekend at Satoo Garden, Shangri-La Jakarta

Since last June, guests at Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta can enjoy not only the buffet and a la carte menu at Satoo Garden restaurant but also BBQ during weekends.

Colorful Xiao Long Bao - Paradise Dynasty Jakarta

2 weeks ago, my colleagues and I went to try the "all you can eat" for xiao long bao (Shanghai dumpling) at Paradise Dynasty. It was a day promotion from 10 am to 4 pm and costed only Rp. 68.000.

Since it was our first time here, we went for the sampling basket (normal price is Rp. 88.000 for the 8 flavors). 8 signature xiao long bao flavors: original, garlic, ginseng, foie gras, black truffle, cheese, crab roe, and Szechuan.

The normal price for original xiao long bao is Rp. 65.000 for a basket of 6 and Rp. 88.000 for a basket of 10 , while the exotic premium xiao long bao like the black truffle, foie gras and ginseng are Rp.88.000 for a basket of 6 and Rp. 118.000 for a basket of 10.

Black Truffle, Crab Roe, Foei Gras and Garlic were really good, thus we ordered them again. Three of us agreed that the Cheesy and Ginseng didn't suit our liking.
