Dijan's Restaurant & Pannekoeken Poffertjes

A couple weeks ago, I had a meeting at Dijan's restaurant.

The restaurant is an old Dutch colonial house.

It supposedly to be a restaurant that serves authentic Dutch food but I guess they don't really stick to the theme since they also offer Italian, American and Indonesian food in their menu.

The restaurant is full air-conditioner but unfortunately, the customers can smoke inside the restaurant. It's quite disturbing for other customers who are non-smoker.

Poffertjes - Rp. 35.000
I enjoyed eating these small coin size of fluffy pancakes with powder sugar and butter.

Bitterbalen - Rp. 35.000
Dutch croquettes rolled into balls.

I like it but it was very salty.

Going to a Dutch restaurant, then ordering Italian pastas is the biggest mistake ever!!!

Fettucini Carbonara - Rp. 45.000
The cream sauce tasted totally bland. Luckily, there were the smoked beef and parmesan cheese but still, you need to add salt on it.

Spaghetti Bolognese - Rp. 45.000
My spaghetti Bolognese was another disappointment. The spaghetti was soggy.

And, seriously, I believe that instead of cooking the Bolognese sauce by their own, they've put the ready to use "La Fonte - Bolognese pasta sauce" on the spaghetti. This product is made in Indonesia. It tasted very sweet like sugar sauce.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio - Rp. 45.000
Also, tad bland. Well, you can taste that the spaghetti got a hot flavor. Only the slice of smoke beef got the savory taste, not the, spaghetti, the mushroom nor the paprika.  Again, pass the salt, please!

Nasi Goreng - Rp. 40.000
This fried rice with slice smoked beef, pickles, fried egg and a cracker on the top was actually decent but for the price, hardly worthy!
All price are subject to 10% government tax and 6% service charge
Current currency: 1 USD = Rp. 9.650

    2. might as well go there hahaha
There's plenty of 50k fried rice in surabaya's five star hotel, Meritus for example

I'll be uploading a post buffet party there in the following days, it's quite a good deal @ 150k for a dinner buffet. Tastewise only mediocre though

  3. FGf: I wont be too surprised if a dinner buffet with a price of Rp. 150k tasted mediocre ;)Looking forward for reading your buffet party post!
