Mr. Curry - Japanese Curry and Sweet House

Last week, I had a fun enjoyable food testing panel experience together with the other food bloggers at a Japanese curry restaurant named Mr. Curry - one of Ismaya Group's restaurants.

When I arrived, it's so nice to see all their displayed food in front of the restaurant, definitely can make people to droll just by looking at them. The waitress greeted me and other customers in Japanese. As soon as I sat, I looked at the cute menu with the very wide of food's varieties. Then... the food tasting panel started :)

Seroja Baru - Kwetiau Sapi (Beef Rice Noodles)

Seroja Baru is my favorite place to eat Kwetiau because their kwetiau tasted really good. Although these days, the portions are not as much as in the old days but they still maintained the taste. There are many branches of Seroja Baru in Jakarta and most of them are in the malls.

Anyway, when you go to their main restaurant in Greenville area, as soon as you arrive in front of the restaurant, you can see directly "the kitchen".

You can watch how the Kwetiau is being cooked.

Kwetiau Sapi Goreng - Rp. 22.000
It's fried rice noodles with beef, innards, eggs, bean sprouts, and choy sum.

Kwetiau Sapi Bun - Rp. 22.000

Carl’s Jr. - Hand-breaded Chicken Tenders

I believe all of you already know that Carl's Jr. is an American fast-food chain with a reputation of the higher-end fast food franchises

Last week, I was invited for their launching of "Freshly Prepared Hand-breaded Chicken Tenders". It's interesting because Carl. Jr is more known for their fresh take on burgers.
Carl's Jr. is the only fast food chain in Jakarta that provide a free flow drinks concept.

I was quite surprised when the box of Chicken tenders got on to my table, I guess I was expecting a little bit bigger box :) Served with 3 dipping sauce - BBQ, Mayonnaise and chili sauce, I gave a try of the BBQ and Mayonnaise.

The 3 strips of chicken were absolutely tender and moist. The breading was crunchy but I must say that it tasted overly salty for my taste bud. Probably it would be perfect if I eat it with rice or french fries.

Shabu Slim

A few weeks ago, my Filipino colleagues and I went to Central Park for a dinner. We decided to give a try this Shabu Slim restaurant that offers buffet with the price of Rp. 112.000 (plus service charge + tax) per person.

After we were escorted to our table, the waiter told us that the time to eat here is only 1 hour and 30 minutes. It shows on the paper and there's a big digital clock hanging on the wall. So, as soon as we decided what kind of broth we wanted for the shabu/hot pot (3 kind of broths: tom yum, chicken or soy bean broth), they started our time. One of my colleagues couldn't stop of looking to the digital clock, seriously it's not nice to know that our time was limited. We couldn't really enjoy our time for eating and talking because we had to cook and eat in a rush.

The conveyor belt that provide the fresh vegetable and raw meat.

Rice, the chili sauce and sweet sour sauce.
