After we were escorted to our table, the waiter told us that the time to eat here is only 1 hour and 30 minutes. It shows on the paper and there's a big digital clock hanging on the wall. So, as soon as we decided what kind of broth we wanted for the shabu/hot pot (3 kind of broths: tom yum, chicken or soy bean broth), they started our time. One of my colleagues couldn't stop of looking to the digital clock, seriously it's not nice to know that our time was limited. We couldn't really enjoy our time for eating and talking because we had to cook and eat in a rush.

You go to the most incredible places Selba. I love following you around in this 'net food' world!
ReplyDeleteI experienced something similar in one Japanese restaurant in Sydney which offers All You Can Eat. We were only allowed to stay there for 1 hour!! It's delicious, but the timing system was not great, but I guess if they didn't do so, there would be too many people who would pig out and stay there for ages...hehehe;)!
ReplyDeleteUhhh, that clock thing is really a bad idea. I'd get super paranoid! That's definitely a way to ruin a dining experience, which is too bad because Shabu-shabu is so fun! And tasty!
ReplyDeletechef e: thanks for "following" me, I hope I can featured more places :)
ReplyDeleteCG: Whoaaa.. only 1 hour? That's even less than this place. Hope the taste of food was worth with the limited time ;)
mica: My colleague got really paranoid because of the clock, she kept looking at the clock and mentioning to us on how many more minutes we got left! hehehe...
You threw me off with Central Park. I thought you were in New York and didn't tell me:)
ReplyDeleteAs for that clock thing, hmmm...what do they say, ready...set...eat? I don't think that would be enjoyable...the food looks good though...
Thanks for sharing, Selba:)
louise: Woopssss.. sorry, I should mentioned that it's Central Park mall in Jakarta, Indonesia! hahahaha... Well, they put a small paper on our table that stated when the time would be up.
ReplyDeleteHmm, that time limit is a tad disturbing. I had hot 'n' spicy hotpot in Taipei last month and similarly they had a two-hour limit.
ReplyDeleteLuckily our Taiwanese friends took care of watching the time and we just enjoyed eating, chatting and laughing! ;)
I love all the places you go to! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLFB: 2 hours? That's better than only 1 hour 30 minutes ;)
ReplyDeletejan: Glad to share, Jan :)
Yeah, plus the Taipei hotpot place had freeflow Haagen Dazs and Movenpick ice-cream! :D
ReplyDeleteLFB: What? Free flow of those ice-cream??? Wow!!! It would never ever happen here in Indonesia, believe me!!! LOL
