Ramen Crave Promotion at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, 15 - 30 May 2013

From 15 to 30 May 2013, there is a Ramen Promotion at Nishimura, Japanese Restaurant at Shangri-La Jakarta. Nishimura Japanese Chef, Hideki Chomei has prepared a range of his ramen creations for the guests.

Last Thursday, I was invited together with other food bloggers to try three types of ramen and also other Japanese dishes.

We had our food tasting at one of the three Teppanyaki rooms

Green tea with warm towel.

Complimentary Trio Appetizer
I enjoyed eating the fresh salad :)

Salmon Skin Cracker – Rp. 48.000
Fried Crispy Salmon Skin which was quite addictive.

Here are the three ramen. The prices are starting from Rp. 98.000 per bowl.

Tomato Chicken Ramen
Chicken and noodles in tomato soup which reminded me to an Italian pasta dish.

Piri Kara Tori Soboro Ramen
This chopped spicy chicken and boiled egg in chicken soup is my favorite among all.

Ebi Chile Ramen
Spaghetti Prawns with noodles in spicy sauce.  Not a spicy eater, thus it's hard for me to enjoy this ramen.

After tasting the ramens, we were served with other Japanese dishes:

Hotate Butter yaki – Rp. 148.000
Grilled Scallop with Butter Sauce

Iyo Sashimi Moriawase – Rp. 490.000
My most favorite five kinds of Sashimi. Really fresh and succulent! Served on crushed ice. The cuts were not too tick nor too thin. The fresh fatty salmon was very delicious.

Dragon Roll – Rp. 120.000
Shrimp Cucumber, Avocado, Lettuce, Flying Fish Roe and Mayonnaise

Spider Roll – Rp. 120.000
Soft Shell Crab, Cucumber, Flying Fish Roe and Mayonnaise

Teppanyaki a la carte:

Misoshiru – Rp. 58.000
A heartwarming Miso soup.

I asked the US beef sirloin to be medium rare but it came medium, Well, still good to my liking. The king salmon was decent. As for the Yasaiitamesa (sauteed beansprout), got a peppery kick and perfect crunchiness.

Yakimeshi
I always like Japanese Fried Rice. It's tasty with the beef, scrambled egg, diced carrot, and a dash of soya.

Dessert:
Matcha Ice cream – Rp. 48.000

 Matcha Pudding – Rp. 72.000
I guess I wont become a fan of the green tea pudding with red beans, melon and papaya because the green tea pudding tasted too bitter for me.
