Baan Mai Thai, Mal Ciputra

There is a Thai restaurant in Mal Ciputra named Baan Mai Thai, which is near my ex-colleague house. So, when I visited her, we decided to give a try this Thai restaurant. Overal the food tasted good although it did not really tasted like authentic Thai food. It tasted more like Chinese food.

Chicken Tom Yum -Rp. 49.000

Instead of using coriander leaves, they put celery leaves. 

This chicken Tom Yum tasted more like local soup.

Gurame with Manggo Salad - Rp. 85.000

This fish dish tasted more authentic Thai than the rest of the food.

Tofu with assorted Mushroom - Rp. 49.000

This tofu dish totally tasted like Chinese dish.

Steamed Rice - Rp. 9.000

Ice Tea (refill) - Rp. 8.000

Service charge 5% & Tax 10%

Nasi Uduk Jl. Buni, Tanjung Duren branch.

This Nasi Uduk place in Tanjung Duren area is the branch from the original place at Jl. Buni, in Mangga Besar area which was opened since 1958. 

Nasi Uduk - Rp. 8.000

Aromatic from the coconut milk and fried shallot.

Fried Chicken - Rp. 19.000 (1 pc.)

I like this crunchy fried chicken with the crumbles of the grated coconut flakes. Too bad the size of the chicken is small.

Jengkol (similar to stinky beans)

The texture is similar to potato but a bit chewy.
It is cooked with Sweet soy sauce.

Ketupat Sayur - Rp. 13.000 (1/2 portion) 

Rice cake with tofu, squash, and coconut milk.

Gyu Kaku Japanese BBQ

My friend invited me to celebrate his birthday at Gyu Kaku Japanese BBQ restaurant in Neo Soho. 

We had the Premium Buffet which consisted of appetizer, grilled appetizer, salad, premium meat, soup, assorted vegetables, rice & noodles, dessert and drinks.

Signature Karubi Beef, Beef Tounge, Spicy Beef, Seafood

BBQ.

Pickles and Kimchi

2 types of sauce: 

Tare and Spicy Tare

Garlic Fried Rice and Karubi Soup

Dessert:

Vanila ice cream and Pudding.

Overall, I had a satisfying lunch at Gyu Kaku. The BBQ meat was fresh and good.

All prices subjected to 10% tax and  5% service charge.

Steak 21 Buffet

I went for a late All you can eat BBQ lunch at Steak 21 in Central Park Mall. This place you can make your own steak grilled with charcoal.

Salad Bar.

There are many type of Sauces, such as:
Sweet mustard, Lemon Mayo, Cream Cheese, Onion Brown, Creamy Mushroom.

There are 4 package: Regular, Prime, Supreme, and  Grand Supreme package. The time limit is only
100 minutes. The last order is 80 minutes. In case customers want to have extra time, there's additional cost of Rp. 100.000.

My friends and I chose the Supreme (C Package) which has 16 types of meat:
Prime Tenderloin, Super Sirloin, Prime Rib Eye, Supreme Tenderloin, Lamb Chop, Salmon, Shrimp
Include Prime B Package: Prime Sirloin, Short Ribs, Tongue,
Include Regular A Package: Bratwurst, Chicken Steak, Original Steak 21 (topside, thins slice short plate, short plate, chop steak).

We can choose the Marinate sauces: Paprika Thyme, Italian Herbs, Original Steak 21, Dill Sweet Mustard.

I quite enjoyed the BBQ meat but I didn't try it all. I definitely will come back again to try the other package.

Samjin Amook

Samjin Amook is known for selling their fishcake since 1953 in South Korea. The first store in Jakarta is at Central Park mall. 

I've been wanting to try Samjin Amook since they opened the store in Central Park mall but most of the time, it is crowded and has a long line in front of the cashier.  

About a week ago, I was quite early at Central Park mall and had the chance to buy these 3 fishcakes on bamboo skewer. The fishcakes were tasty and had nice chewy texture.
