Today, I had a wonderful lunch at a new restaurant that has just opened for a month in Panin Building named Locanda * Food Voyager. Locanda means "Inn" in Italian. The name came from Marco Polo who would stop at an Inn or Locanda on his journey from Italy to Asia.
Locanda offers a unique palate of cuisines against the backdrop of a heady lounge music and chic atmosphere.
The selection of food are Italian and Pan Asian (mostly Thai) dishes.
Tom Yam Kung - Rp. 65.000
I enjoyed this spicy and sour prawn soup.
Sinchos - Rp. 55.000
What a unique appetizer! A resemble of nachos but instead of using tortillas chips, they use traditional "singkong" crackers with yellow cheddar sauce and truffle oil as the cover.
White Truffle Pizza - Rp. 85.000
A delicious pizza topped with mozzarella, celery stick, wild mushroom and truffle oil.
Cigar Prawn - Rp. 60.000
This is so good! Light and crunchy. Dipped with mayonnaise.
Angel Hair - Rp. 120.000
Capellini with tiger prawn on the top. The garlic and chili olive oil were perfect for this dish.
Kai Pad Prik Klea - Rp. 60.000
A delightful dish! Thai chicken black pepper and garlic.
Grilled Spring Chicken - Rp. 120.000
with mashed potatoes and spiced tomato sauce. The chicken was very tender.
Udon Goreng Jawa - Rp. 70.000
I really like the idea of using Japanese noodle (Udon) for this Javanese style noodle, known as Mie Goreng Jawa.
Thai Desserts
Luk Chup - Rp. 50.000
Thai sweet mashed mung bean on 'agar-agar'.
The best Luk Chup I've eaten so far in Jakarta!
Manciam - Rp. 50.000
This Thai cassava cake with coconut milk tasted so delicious.
Western Desserts
Melted Choco Cake - Rp. 60.000
with wild berry and rum raisin ice cream. Lovely!
Castangel Mollica - Rp. 55.000
A totally irresistible cheese cake.
