Italian à la carte Menu at Collage Pullman Jakarta Central Park

This month, Pullman Jakarta Central Park is launching Italian à la carte menu at Collage All Day Dining. Chef Eric Baudru is responsible for all these wonderful Italian menu with all the fresh premium cheese imported directly from Italy. With these array of unique concoction of cheese with everything else, his menu will most probably leave your taste satisfied. Despite the steep prices, you would be convinced, as I am, that it is worth the splurge to pamper those taste senses once in a short while!

Antipasto Freddo Burrata Burrata Di Campania - Rp. 250.000
I have never seen such a beautiful presentation of tomato heirloom, fresh Burrata, basil spherification and pickled radish. This appetizer is good for 2 persons but for me, I would be more happy to have it all for myself.

Some people might not familiar with Burrata. Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture. It is also defined by some sources as an outer shell or mozzarella filled with butter or a mixture of butter and sugar. It is usually served fresh, at room temperature. The name "burrata" means "buttered" in Italian.

Antipasto Caldo Mozzarella Affumicata - Rp. 105.000
This Salmon confit, root salsifi, smoked mozzarella and sweet soya is a delicious dish.

Tartufo Nero - Rp. 190.000
Low temperature turkey breast, black truffle scented winter vegetables puree, roasted turkey bone jus.

Everything was so tasty on this plate. I really loved the black truffle scented winter vegetables puree. Incredible!

Parmigiano Reggiano - Rp. 195.000
Roasted lamb scented with basil and parmesan, fennel and red pepper confit, honey natural jus.

A delicious roasted lamb but I prefer to have it medium rare.

Selezione Di Formaggio - Rp. 185.000
Scrumptious assorted cheeses: Caciocavallo (a type of stretched-curd cheese made out of sheep's or cow's or buffalo's milk, shaped like a tear-drop), Scamorza Affumicata (smoked mozzarella), Ricotta and Burrata, micro cress salad

Panna Cotta - Rp. 150.000
Delectable Panna Cotta made of Ricotta with a dollop of aromatic mango and vanilla.

Another additional dish that is being introduced during this food tasting is a special French cake - La Galette des Rois (French King Cake) available in January 2014.

Chef Alexis is the one who made this La Galatte des Rois.

A very nice pastry made of puff pastry with filling made from or flavor with almonds. According to the French tradition, a dried bean or figurine is placed inside the cake, and whoever finds it in their piece is crowned  as the “king” for the day.

Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta Reopens

I can not be happier when Paulaner Bräuhaus finally reopened last November 2013. Yes! After being closed for almost a year, this restaurant that served delicious contemporary Bavarian (German) food is back again. It is even better now because they are brewing and serving again the refreshing Paulaner beer, fresh from the brewery! By the way, the restaurant's location has moved from the Ground floor to the 2nd floor East Mall Grand Indonesia.  

The dining area is available for 400 guests including a stage for live music performance and private dining rooms.
Still the same interior as before but it is more spacious.

Paulaner Beer
Size of glasses: 
0.3L - Rp. 80.000, 0.5L - Rp. 95.000, and 1L - Rp.190.000
All Paulaner beer are brewed according to the 1516 Bavarian Purity Law not using any other ingredients than the four ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast. Everything is imported from Germany except for the water. The beer tasted so good because it always tapped fresh and with a lot of fizz.

there are fruity flavors, i.e: Strawberry, Black Bart, Lychee.

Beside the sparkling Hell Bier (light beer), my other favorite is the Black Bart with root beer flavor.

German bread basket (Deutscher Brotkorb) - Rp. 30.000 
Sourdough, Salt-stick roll, Dark beer bread and Mini pretzel.
 Sauerteigbrot, Laugenbrötchen, Schwarzbierbrot und eine kleine Bretzel. 

Paulaner platter - Rp. 275.000
Poached smoked pork chop, 1 Debrecener sausage, meatloaf, 2 Vienna Sausages, 2 Nuremberg sausages and crispy pork knuckle served with sauerkraut and mashed potato.
Kassler Rippchen, eine Debreziner, Leberkäse, 2 Wiener Würstchen, 2 Nürnberger und knusprige Schweinshaxe serviert mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelpüree.

It still tasted as wonderful as the last time I had this platter.

Char grilled pork neck steak  - Rp. 95.000
24 hours marinated in beer, onions and mustard, served with home-made potato salad and white cabbage.
Gegrilltes Schweinenackensteak, 24 Stunde mariniert in Bier, Zwiebeln und Senf, serviert mit hausgemachten Kartoffelsalat und Weiβkraut. 

The 24 hours marinated pork neck steak was definitely flavorful and tender. The home-made potato salad served cold was incredible delicious! I have not eaten this kind of delicious potato salad for such a long time. It really brought a smile to my face :)

Sautéed chicken stripes in creamy mushroom sauce, 
market vegetables and Spätzle - Rp. 125.000
Rahmgeschnetzeltes vom Huhn mit Champignons, marktfrischem Gemüse und Spätzle. 

It was enjoyable to eat Spätzle (traditional German noodle) with the creamy mushroom sauce.

Home-made warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce - Rp. 55.000
Hausgemachter Apfelstrudel mit Vanillesoβe 

It tasted a bit better than when I ordered it last time, but I would be happier if the sourness of the apple filling is more enhanced.

Emperors pancake with apple compote - Rp. 55.000
Kaiserschmarrn mit Apfel. 
Lightly caramelized pancake with a sweet taste and fluffy texture.

Apple Juice with carbonated mineral water 
My favorite childhood drink! Love it!
So refreshing and not too sweet like those other soft drinks.

Kahyangan Teppanyaki, Pullman Jakarta

Pullman Jakarta Hotel has tried to reach me since last July to let me try experiencing the new Teppanyaki restaurant at the legendary Kahyangan restaurant. I was so glad that finally, last week, I was able to try the Premium Teppanyaki set. It was a totally remarkable experience!

Kahyangan (literally means heaven) is located at Wisma Nusantara on the 28th floor, offering an impressive view of Jakarta. This fine-dining restaurant has opened since 40 years ago; it is well known for serving Shabu-shabu with highest reputation of food quality, service and style.

Rock salt, ponzu sauce and fresh wasabi.

Premium Set for 2 persons.

Zen Sai (appetizer)
These light Chicken Babanji and Salmon Croquette were a good starter.

Organic Mixed Green Salad 
The light aromatic Yuzu soy was a good dressing for the salad.

Pumpkin Creamy Soup.
Very comforting, not too creamy.

Seared Foie Gras with Balsamic Teriyaki Sauce, Cranberry sauce and Kiwi sauce.
The smooth, silky and buttery texture of foei gras, paired with the three sauce was absolutely delicious! It melt nicely in my mouth.

 Live Canadian lobster (400 - 500 gr/pcs.)

He has experienced for more than 20 years in preparing Teppanyaki.

Canadian Lobster served with Shimeji Tempura and
Sea Urchin Sauce, Wasabi Sauce, Balsamic Sauce.
I adore this dish. The sauces enriched the fresh sweet lobster. My favorite sauce was the fresh Wasabi sauce, which was grated from wasabi root. The Shimeji tempura tasted decent but I think it would be much better if it served hot directly from the frying pan.

Lobster Miso Soup
paired with Japanese pickles. Eating this soup gave me a nice and warm feeling.

Lime Sorbet with Blueberry.
The sweet and tangy lime sorbet was a pleasant palate cleanser to respite before moving on to the main dish, the Wagyu M9+.

 The raw Wagyu M9+ Striploin (180 gr). Beautiful marbled!

Cooked perfectly medium rare. It was absolutely tender, meaty and satisfying. The taste was even more fantastic by adding a little bit rock salt and wasabi. 

Fried Rice with Anchovies
It was quite tasty although it would be much better and aromatic if I choose the spicy version as Chef Ery recommended but unfortunately, I couldn't stand for spicy food.

The chef is preparing the  Banana Flambe. 
An interesting attraction to see the burst of flame during the cooking of Banana Flambe.

The seared banana wrapped in crepes, served with vanilla ice cream was a good closing for this remarkable scrumptious dinner.

Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta's Charitable Chinese New Year Celebration

Starting 26 January 2014 to 2 February 2014, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski's Signatures Restaurant is having Chinese New Year feast, which is Chinese New Year buffet prepared by the Executive Chinese Chef Albert Liew. 

During the feast, there will be an Angpao (red envelope) with a value of Rp. 100.000/envelope for the guests to purchase. There are various vouchers to win inside the envelopes to win. The grand prize is a one-night stay at the Presidential Suite valued at Rp. 182.000.000. All of the Angpao purchased by the guests will be donated and topped with additional contribution Rp. 8.800.000 by Hotel Indonesia Kempinski to Yayasan Sekolah Kartini, an underprivileged primary and middle school in Mangga Besar area. This charity program is named Donate Your Luck.

Live Chinese harp (Guzheng) will be performed on 28, 30 and 31 January 2014.

Here below are the menu of Chinese New Year buffet.

Yee Sang.

The higher you toss it, the more luck you will get in the coming year.

The Yee Shang was refreshing and light. Having the slices of Salmon in the yee shang made it delightful. 

The Yee Shang was accompanied by,
Sliced Jelly assorted fruits with Prawn.
Not a fan of it.

Drunken Chicken.
Tasty and tender!

Shredded potatoes with Sze Chuan paste.
Overwhelmed salty but nice crunchy texture.

Jelly fish with Plum Sauce.
Although it was pretty cloying and tangy but I love it.

Assorted Seafood Soup with Pumpkin.
Just briny and sweet.

Peking Duck.
I wish there was more duck meat inside it.

Deep fried Soon Hok with Hongkong style.
Savory! The fish was smooth.

Sautee 3 treasure Seafood with Broccoli.
Tasted wonderful.

La Mian.

Sze Chuan Smoke Duck.
Don't be deceived by the look! It was delicious! 

Sliced Beef with Sze Chuan Style.
One of my favorite dishes. It was so tender and tasty.

Prawn Fillet with Cereal.
I like the idea of having the sweet cereal together with the prawn in this dish.

Sweet Taro Paste with Ginko Nut and fresh Coconut Milk.
Not so sure whether a dessert with coconut milk is a good idea to end the Chinese New Year buffet but the sweet Taro was good.
