Leong Kee Tim Sum, Penang, Malaysia

I'd been craving so much for the dim sum in Penang thus I joined my colleagues to have dim sum  for breakfast. We left the hotel around 6.30 am and it was still so dark outside, not like in Jakarta where 5.30 in the morning is usually already starting to be bright.
Fried dim sum.

Steamed dim sum.

Siao Mai, Ha Kao and chicken feet are the MUST dim sum :)

We had much more dim sum than what it showed on this picture. 3 to 4 times quantity. The dim sum was so delicious, even tasted much better than those dim sum at the famous Chinese restaurants in Jakarta. I couldn't believe that it only costed RM 5 per person. Very satisfied!

Fried Lobak.

The best salted egg bak pao I've ever eaten.

Chrysanthemum tea. I wonder why the color is so dark but bitter tasted slightly.

Meat bun.

Dim Sum at Sun City Luxury Club

Last week, I had Dim Sum lunch together with my two colleagues at Sun City Luxury Club which located in the Jakarta China Town area known as Kota.

I really like the luxurious interior of this restaurant. The seating capacity is up to 2500 people. There are also VVIP and VIP rooms above the grand dining room.

Here are the dim sum that we ordered.

Kue Lobak Goreng  - Rp. 21.800

Sio May udang campur babi - Rp. 25.800

Ha Kao udang - Rp. 25.800

Pai Kut dengan pare dan saos kacang hitam - Rp. 23.800

Bak Pao telur asin - Rp. 23.800

The filling are salted egg yolk and sweet condense milk.

Cakwe goreng isi udang babi dengan saus alpukat - Rp. 25.800

Kaki Ayam saus pedas- Rp.21.800
Each of us ordered this. Love these chicken feet!
Sharing it wouldn't be enough ;)

Cheong Fun Cakwe dengan saus kacang - Rp. 23.800

Pangsit Goreng Mayonnaise - Rp. 25.800

Pangsing rebus saus cuka (dumplings with black vinegar) - Rp. 23.800

Nasi Ketan Bungkus daun teratai - Rp. 21.800

Inside the lor mai kai.

Puff dengan Panggang Babi Madu - Rp. 23.800

Nafeeza Steak and Bento

Last week, my colleague brought me to try food at this restaurant named Nafeeza, specializing in Steak and Bento, although actually there are so many varieties of food choices in the menu. From Asian food (Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese) until Western food (Italian, French). I was quite astound when I looked at the prices which are so affordable. But then at the end after I tried the food, my conclusion is "you get what you pay for" ;)

Air-conditioner.

 Non Air-cond.

If you love chili, you will be really happy with all the array of Indonesian chili.

Sambal (chili)

Ceker - Rp. 12.000
As a dim sum chicken feet style lover, I was quite disappointed of this dish. The chicken feet probably was already over heated so many times that made it taste so mushy.

Kwotie - Rp. 12.000
Tasted good but not as good as the authentic ones.

Nasi Bakar Seafood - Rp. 25.000
Pretty good but too spicy for me. I barely could eat it.

Sirloin local - Rp. 48.000
top local sirloin (150gr) grilled and brushed with tangy BBQ sauce, served with mix veggie and french fries.

I asked for a medium rare steak. Well, it looks more like "rare" than "medium rare" to me. What do you think?

Three type of sauces for the steak (BBQ, sweet sour and black pepper).

Escargot de Champignon - Rp. 39.000
I guess I was expecting too much for this French dish. The mushroom really absorbed the margarine. Very oily.

Poached Pear Puff Pastry - Rp. 39.000
I like it! But please do not expect too much when you order this. It's just a simple puff pastry with poached pear on the top.

Bakpao Cokelat (chocolate bun)
It's good but it would be much better if the filling was melted chocolate.

Melon punch
Very sweet!!! It's like drinking sugar water.

Weekend Dim Sum Brunch at Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta

Starting last January 2014, Cantonese dim sum buffet with unlimited Chinese and lemon tea at Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta is available every weekend.

Pan Fried Dim Sum

Crispy wonton dumpling, Fried tofu stuffed with prawn, Turnip cake with chicken floss, BBQ puff pastry.

The pan fried items were actually good but most of them were already cold and became greasy. It would be much better if they are served hot.

Steamed Barbeque (Chang Fen).
My favorite!

Soups and Congees

Spicy and sour soup.
A nice soup to enhance the appetite.

Century egg and shredded chicken congee.
I like this tasty congee.

Steamed Dim Sum

Steamed beef ball with bean curd skin.

Xiao long bao.
I was a bit disappointed because the xiao long bao that I ate was totally dry.

Cold dishes

Crispy fried eel, chilled sliced beef shank, mixed fruit salad, fried mushroom in black vinegar, celery with dried shrimp.

The marinated baby octopus with spicy sauce was good.

A la Carte menu
Crispy battered prawns with mayonnaise. Delicious!

Dessert

Mango pudding and ice cream.
All prices are subjected to 21% service charge and government tax.
