Dessert 'n Smile is a new dessert place in a heritage wooden house over the water at Chew Jetty - one of the famous tourist destination places in Penang, Malaysia.

Dessert 'n Smile sells freshly baked puff and delicious ice cream from 9am until 7pm everyday.

There are 3 types of puff: original, charcoal, crunchy.

The Durian puff (charcoal, crunchy, original).

The filling: Durian, Chocolate and Matcha (green tea).

I like this charcoal puff with Matcha filling.

 It tasted good and also unique from the charcoal puff and sweet Matcha.

I really recommended the ice cream at Dessert n' Smile. 

There are four flavors of ice cream: Cempedak, Durian, Matcha and Oreo.

1 Ice Cream - RM. 8.00

As a durian lover, I totally indulged the Durian ice cream. It's very good and fragrant. But as for my colleagues, the Cempedak ice cream becomes the winner. Btw, I adore the cute cat logo of Dessert n' Smile :)

Wooyoo Ice Cream, PIK

Wooyoo ice cream is a 100% milk soft ice cream from KOREA. Here in Jakarta, it is available in PIK area. I tried four different varieties of Wooyoo ice cream and really enjoyed them all. Tasted great!

The beehive decor did really catch my attention.

A pure milk soft ice cream made with Korean cereal, grain powder and honey on top.
Salty Choco - Rp. 35.000
Sea salt imported from Korea

Pop! Monster - Rp. 35.000

With popcorn caramel on the top.

With flavored Cotton candy (matcha or caramel). 

Schneeballen - Rp. 30.000

To eat this Schneeballen (it means snow ball in English), you need to use a wooden hammer to break this deep fried shortcut pastry. Interesting, isn't it?

Shirayuki Japanese Desserts & Bistro, PIK

Shirayuki is a new place  serving Japanese dessert and fusion food. It has just opened for less than a month. This bistro was known as Kabocha before, but the owner changed the name and decoration but still serving some of the Kabocha's menu.

When I was there last weekend, I was pretty amazed that so many people were willing to be on the waiting list to get a table.

Hamburg Steak with Ebi Furai - Rp. 72.000

Salmon Cream Soup Spaghetti - Rp. 55.000 

I really like it! Not too creamy but really tasty.

Bolognese Gratin - Rp. 38.000

Nice baked cheese with tomato sauce served with minced beef and chicken.

Cabe Ijo Bianco - Rp. 41.000

Ultimate interpretation of modern Indonesian-style spaghetti. 

Spicy food lover would love this dish.

Crab Spaghetti in Tomato Cream Sauce - Rp. 65.000
Can't get enough with the tomato cream sauce and also the crab on the top.

 Kushikatsu

A Japanese style of skewered, deep fried cutlet of meat or seasonal vegetables.

At the moment, I don't think there is any place that sell Kashoku ice cream in Jakarta. It's a must to give a try of this ice cream, so good!!!

Together with my friends, I went for an afternoon cakes and ice cream at Island Creamery- a franchise ice cream outlet from Singapore.

 Old fashioned apple pie with ice cream - Rp. 39.000

The apple pie was decent.
I enjoyed the oreo vanilla ice cream that came along with it.

 Chocolate lava with ice cream - Rp. 39.000

The chocolate lave cake was good and also the rainbow ice cream (vanila ice cream mixed with rainbow cake).

SumoBoo, Taman Anggrek Mall

It's like everyone is talking about Sumoboo these days and it definitely made me eagerly to find out how good it is. A couple week ago, I went to Sumoboo in Pantai Indah Kapuk but the line was so long. My colleague and I were already too tired to wait thus we ended up in Capitea.

When I heard, Sumoboo opened its branch in Taman Anggrek mall, I was pretty excited to give it a try.

I went there with my ex-colleague yesterday. It was around 10 am. I couldn't believe it to see there was already a line. All the tables were occupied.

I looked to the menu and wanted to order the Nutella bomb as being recommended by a lot of people. Too bad, it was not ready and the waitress could not tell when it would be ready. I asked for other desserts but most of them are not available at this branch yet.  

At the end, I ordered

SumoBoo Kakigori - Rp. 45.000

On the menu it says, this dessert contains of red beans, green tea ice cream, egg pudding, big boba, mochi, sliced almond, taro and nata de coco. I could not find the big boba (well, there were three white bobas but not big, ordinary size of boba), then I wondered where were the taro and nata de coco? I dug under the shredded ice covered with chocolate powder but nothing was there. 

I was quite disappointed when I tried this dessert. Nothing special about the taste. Totally lack of originality.

Seasonal Ramadhan Ice Cream Cakes from Cold Stone Creamery Indonesia (20 June - 31 July 2014)

Cold Stone Creamery Indonesia has launched the Seasonal Ramadhan Ice Cream Cakes which will be available during the Ramadhan month starting 20 June to 31 July 2014 at all outlets in Jakarta and Bali. 

The price is Rp. 480.000 per ice cream cake. Customers need to order three (3) days in advance before pick up/delivery day. Special promo for BCA card holder is Rp. 360.000 per cake and for BNI Debit/Credit card is 20% discount.

Mubarak Festival

Sweet Cream Ice Cream with Oreo, luxuriously covered with elaborately designed colored chocolate ganache.

Ramadhan Miracle

Decadent Chocolate Ice Cream with dark chocolate shavings, covered with elegant purple chocolate ganache with fruit and cream topping.

Chocolate Eid

Glorious Coffee Ice Cream with sliced almonds and caramel sauce with dark and white chocolate coating nestled with ketupat icing fondant and fruits.

WaLa Ice Cream & Coffee at Le Meredien Jimbaran Bali

WaLa is a casual relaxing place for homemade Gelato - ice creams and also to enjoy illy coffee at Le Meridien Jimbaran. It is an extention to Bamboo Chic restaurant inside the hotel.

WaLa is using illy espresso for serving coffee.

There are also many variant of tea.

I chose to sit beside the pond with the view of the Le Meridien hotel.
