Ramen Seirock- Ya, Pondok Indah Mall 1 Jakarta

I am just so glad that finally after almost 1.5 year of not going out to any mall at all since the Covid19 pandemic. I finally had the courage to go to the mall again last Saturday with my friends. We went to Pondok Indah mall and dined at Ramen Seirok-Ya which got a long queue when we arrived there. There's a time restriction to dine-in which customers are only allowed to eat for 20 minutes after the meal is served on the table.

I was quite impressed that he creamy broth is made from only chicken, tasted very delicious. It's also not too salty, even though I ordered the original broth; there's an option to choose the less salty one. Love the texture of the thick ramen.
All prices are subjected to Government tax.

1 USD = Rp. 14.339

Pesto - Basil Leaves

One of my favorite pasta sauces is Pesto. I just love the aroma from the Basil leaves mixed with fresh garlic. It's so difficult for me to find fresh Basil leaves here in Jakarta and since the Covid-19 pandemic, I cannot visit any restaurants serving pasta with Pesto sauce. Thus, at the end, I decided to find Basil seeds, so I could plant it by myself.

So, about a month ago, I bought Basil seeds at an online shop in East Java. I was so excited and directly plant the Basil seeds in a small pot on my roof garden.

The Basil plants.

Age: about 1.5 week.

Age: about 2.5 weeks

Age: about 3.5 weeks.

The color of the leaves is not as dark as the usual Basil leaves that I know. I have no idea why it is so light, but anyway, the aroma of the Basil leaves is like the normal Basil leaves. I'm just so happy that finally, I can have fresh Basil leaves from my garden and make my own Pesto sauce. Yay!

Lomie "Amen" Pinangsia

I hardly go to Pinangsia area but then my ex-colleague  recommended a small restaurant which is famous for Lo Mie - Chinese noodle originally from Fujian, China, named Lomie "Amen" Pinangsia. According to my ex-colleague, this place has been selling Lomie for more than 40 years.

This man is the owner which I believe his name is "Amen" is already in his 80s.
It's amazing that he still works and takes care of his restaurant.

I arrived around 1 pm and guess what? The pork meat was almost sold out. If I'm not mistaken, they are preparing 20 kg pork (meat, liver and gizzard)  per day for the Lomie.

Lomie "Amen" Pinangsia - Rp. 58.000

Bakso Akiaw 99 Mangga Besar

I just had an early dinner at Super Suikiaw in Mangga Besar area when my friend mentioned a famous place for meatballs (bakso), which located across from the Super Suikiaw.

I got curious and wanted to try it so I went there directly although I was still feeling full.

The place was totally packed! No Air-conditioner!
It was hard to find an empty table so we had to share our table and seat together with other people.

We ordered the meatballs, sliced beef with rice vermicelli - Rp. 42.000

The beef meatballs were springy and pretty tasty but the sliced beef was so sweet.
The beef broth was good, not too salty nor too oily.

Love the coriander leaves and fried shallot but not that hard and dry rice vermicelli.

Bariuma Ramen, CityWalk Mall Sudirman Jakarta

Today, I was invited to the pre-opening Food Tasting event for Bariuma Ramen's first outlet in Indonesia.

Bariuma Ramen is one of the most widely known Ramen in Japan and currently already have branches in Singapore, Malaysia. Established in Hiroshima, Bariuma is re-known for its thick broth of soup and tasty home-made noodle, garnish with the most delicious toppings.

A brief introduction about Bariuma Ramen. Bariuma means Bari (Super) Uma (Tasty) Bariuma Ramen has been successfully developed in Hiroshima – Japan and it is one of the most successful business models ever developed among Japanese restaurants in the world. The founder of Bariuma Ramen believes that a tasty bowl of ramen has to have super rich and thick soup suit to the modern style. Bariuma Ramen found out the solution for this, and developed the Rich Tonkotsu soysauce based with the finest soya and cooked with authentic Tonkotsu Flavor. Now, after opening more than 50 outlets in Japan, Bariuma Ramen is ready to be offered and expanded to other countries including Indonesia.

Customers can choose the hardness of the homemade ramen (noodle) from soft - original - firm. Interestingly to know that Bariuma Ramen differentiated the bowl color. For pork soup, the bowl, chopsticks and spoon are in red color and for chicken soup, the color is black.

Ajitama-Uma - Rp. 68.000
I really enjoy the rich tasty pork flavored shoyu soup (tonkotsu) with grilled thick-cut chashu and flavored egg. The soup was thicker compared to other tonkotsu that I have tried at other ramen restaurants.

The grilled tick-out chasu was really good and tender!

Seriously, I was very disappointed when I found that the flavored boiled egg (ajitama) was hard boiled. I asked one of the partners whether the ajitama supposedly to be like that. I was glad when he said that they will try to improve it.

Chicken Gyoza - Rp. 35.000
The thin layer from this gyoza is made of mixing flour, potato starch with specific blended ratio so it becomes very crispy

The inside filling was so juicy. Best to eat  it with the gyoza (soyu) sauce.

Green tea  (ocha) - Rp. 15.000 (free re-fill)
All prices subjected to tax.

1 USD = Rp. 12.840
