Want to experience Oktoberfest? Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta is having five nights of German folk music, German food, silly games and fun crowd! This festival is from 24 to 28 September 2014, at 6.30 pm till the last man standing :)

Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier

Free flow of special Oktoberfest Bier which is full-bodied with a hint of malty sweetness and 5% alcohol per volume stronger than the usual lager beer. Perfect balance of strength and flavor!

Delicious family-style Bavarian food 

Paulaner "Brotzeit" Plate

Selection of appetizing smoked and cured hams assorted homemade cold cuts, Vienna sausage, liver pate, lard, smoked duck and cold meat roasts, Emmenthal cheese, Gouda, spiced Camembert spread, chives cream cheese, served with homemade potato salad, cucumber salad and German breads, rolls and pretzel.

Oktoberfest Platter

Crispy pork knuckle, meat loaf, oven roasted chicken, pork roast in dark beer sauce, homemade Paulaner sausages (Nuremberger, Krainer, Vienna) served with sauerkraut, red cabbage, bread dumpling, mashed potato and French fries.

Mixed berry compote with vanilla sabayon

The entertainment:

X’elch’ten Band

 is being flown in from Europe to play Bavarian folk music and entertain Paulaner Jakarta's guests.

You can buy one of the favorite sweet treats during German festivals and fairs which is Gingebread (Lebkuchen) at the entrance of Paulaner Jakarta.

This coffee shop is located in Jalan Surabaya - Menteng, beside Cali Deli and Madame Ching restaurant.

Macaroni House, Pesanggrahan

Curious of the famous Macaroni House that started first by selling it online in 2012 and finally opened its restaurant in 2013 in the West Jakarta area, some food bloggers and I gave it a try.

Grandma Mac and Cheese - Rp. 40.000

Tasted good but I guess my expectation was too high because of so many great reviews that I heard and read.

Vesuvius Fries - Rp. 35.000

I wish for more toppings because it felt that I ended up eating apparently the french fries.

Strawberry Yakult Shake - Rp. 20.000

Dalmation Shake - Rp. 20.000

The Strawberry yakult tasted plainly sweet. The dalmation shake was just chocolate milk with oreo topping on it.

Banana Burn - Rp. 20.000

Grilled sweet banana drizzled with caramel sauce and served with vanilla ice cream. 

 There are cute cartoons about Super Macaroni House.

PAUL Boulangerie et Pâtisserie, Jakarta

It was a shiny beautiful morning when my food blogger friends and I had breakfast at PAUL Bakery in Pacific Place. 

PAUL has a good reputation for the quality and also their pastry chefs are very qualified. But then since they have bakeries in more than 20 countries (there are about 500 PAUL bakery/cafe restaurants around the world) thus their pastry are made frozen for the mass production.

Gaufre Chocolatte - Rp. 45.000

A simple waffle with chocolate sauce. 

Moelleux Choco - Rp. 45.000

It looks that this Moelleux Choco was upside down when it was served. Anyway, this smooth chocolate cake tasted just decent.

Mille Feuille Mangue - Rp. 50.000

Love this puff pastry with mango custard! 

Escargot Aux Raisins - Rp. 22.000
This raisin pastry was good.
Eclair Framboises - Rp. 50.000
A wonderful eclair because of the pretty framboise and not too sweet creamy filling. 

Chausson Pomme + Cappuccino - Rp. 65.000 (package price)

Good flaky pastry with apple filling. I like the sourness of the apple.

Damman Freres tea, Vert Menthe Tea - Rp. 40.000

Overall, it was a nice breakfast at PAUL. The taste of the pastry was quite good but my personal opinion about the pastry and prices here are overrated.

Island Creamery, Puri Indah, Jakarta

Together with my friends, I went for an afternoon cakes and ice cream at Island Creamery- a franchise ice cream outlet from Singapore.

 Old fashioned apple pie with ice cream - Rp. 39.000

The apple pie was decent.
I enjoyed the oreo vanilla ice cream that came along with it.

 Chocolate lava with ice cream - Rp. 39.000

The chocolate lave cake was good and also the rainbow ice cream (vanila ice cream mixed with rainbow cake).
